The Beer Can Chicken is the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 of barbecue. They are both incredibly beautiful, they bring a tear to your eye, and they both take roughly the same amount of time from start to finish. Beer can Chicken, however, won’t take a lifetime to master.
Simply open a beer, drink only 1/4 of it, put it in this beautiful roaster, then slip the chicken over top. Rub it with your favourite barbecue rub. Cook it indirect at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour. Use an instant read thermometer to ensure that it is done, then get ready for all the complements to roll in.
